Mixed Martial Arts
What is Mixed Martial Arts?
Mixed Martial Arts or MMA is one of the most prominent martial arts today because it is so applicable to
real life self-defence situations. It is a style used all over the world which combines standing
self-defence, as well as ground fighting techniques. As most fights in the real world are unbalanced
going to the ground isn’t always an option so it is good to have both stand up and ground self defence
skills.
Ka-chi Mixed Martial Arts classes combine Muay Thai, Western Boxing, Freestyle Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). When taught properly
the training should mirror a reality situation, making you realise just what you are capable of in a
real situation, in the ring or on the street. Predominantly MMA is taught in order for a student to
enter competitions these competitions combine striking with the hands, elbows, knees and also
integrate takedowns and submission style wrestling.
